Technology Evaluation, Training & Consultation
(ATETC)
Evaluation
Assistive Technology Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of
an individual’s
assistive technology needs conducted at your school or center.
All assistive technology hardware and software is provided
however,
your staff is fully
involved in every aspect of the assessment. Rates are $750 per
day. All evaluations are conducted at our office.
Services may be authorized
and paid for by the following programs:
School District Offices
Special Education Cooperatives
Each assessment addresses
the following high tech and low tech components:
Computer access
Student writing and productivity
Reading and ocular mobility
Augmentative communication
and classroom programming
Technology and Inclusion
also blends our copyrighted “8 Step Process” into your team’s
assessment of vision, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech/language
and educational diagnostics. The “8 Step Process” includes:
Records review
Parent interview
Teacher/therapist
interview
Classroom observation
Selection of hardware/software
Hardware/software
trials
Selection of items
for recommendation
Exit interview
Our office has worked successfully
with dozens of school districts all across Texas, including: Beaumont
ISD, Bosque County Special Ed Coop, Calallen ISD, Giddings Special Services
Coop, Midway ISD, Silsbee ISD, and Valley Mills ISD.
Training
Assistive Technology Training is a one-on-one training service in which
a consultant works directly with the child or adult with a disability
at their home in their use of assistive technology. We address the unique
needs created by conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay,
Autism, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Down
Syndrome and other disabilities.
Consultation fees are $65
per hour in office, $75 per hour in home. Services may be authorized
and paid for by any of the following waiver programs:
Community Living Assistance
and Support Services (CLASS)
Home and Community Services
(HCS)
Medically Dependent Children’s
Program (MDCP)
DARS-Division for Rehabilitation
Services, formerly Texas Rehabilitation Commission (TRC)
Austin Travis County Mental
Health Mental Retardation Center (ATCMHMR)
Private insurance

Consultation
Assistive Technology Consultation provides support in a classroom setting
for teachers, speech-language pathologists and other related service
providers.
Consultation service covers classroom organization, computer and communication
hardware and software, instructional modifications, and behavioral
management.
Consultation fees are $65
per hour in office, $75 per hour in home. Services may be authorized
and paid for by the following
