Section 1. Technology for the Novice Writer
In this hands-on 3-hour computer lab workshop, participants will learn
the basics of word processing with voice output and word prediction,
program features and teaching activities designed to prepare students
for writing
with assistive technology.
Section 2. Writing and Composition
Develop strategies for teaching writing and productivity skills to
students with disabilities, targeting the teaching of writing and
composition
to those students who will be using word processing, word prediction
and voice
output. In this hands-on computer workshop, participants will explore
various word processing programs and design developmentally-based writing
supports.
Section 3. Choosing and Using Voice Recognition Software
Thinking about using Dragon Naturally Speaking of ViaVoice? How do
you know if it will work? How do you train the users? What are the
most common
pitfalls? Learn what works.
