What is Speak Up Texas!?
Speak Up Texas! was a free service dedicated to helping Texans with speech-related disabilities communicate more effectively using the telephone. It was an outreach program brought to you by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) with services provided by Technology and Inclusion. Speak Up Texas! was funded through August 31, 2005 and has since ended.

Speak Up Texas! was created in 2002 to increase awareness and use of Speech to Speech, a feature of Relay Texas. Speech to Speech is one of several types of telecommunications relay services that allows a person with a speech disability to call and connect with a trained Communication Assistant who can serve as the caller’s “voice” and repeat his or her responses when necessary. It is federally mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
