Vocational Communication Academics Technology (VoCAT)

What is VoCAT?
VoCAT is a unique program designed to provide a community college experience for adults with moderate to severe disabilities. The program is a collaboration between Technology and Inclusion and Austin Community College (ACC) offering adult continuing education courses in Vocational Occupational Skills, Vocational Academic Skills and Vocational Technology Skills.

The program is intended to address the complex issues that face adults with disabilities following graduation from public school – nearly all college and job entry programs in Texas require a minimum academic performance level to enroll. VoCAT however, is the first program of its kind to offer admission to any applicant regardless of their functioning level. Its’ Zero Reject Policy means every applicant is accepted on a ‘space available’ basis.
